Axle for payload optimisation/additional axle for VW Crafter
Reference number: DE025DE006
Product description and Features
The Crafter with additional axle is suitable for almost every sector where high payloads are required.
Payload increase for VW Crafter 50, payloads of up to approx. 4400 kg are possible.
Additional axle for VW Crafter 50, also for Double cab chassis models.
Chassis carrying capacity: approx. 5100 kg (with gross vehicle weight of 7.49 tonnes).
For example, the Crafter 50 is then a Crafter with a gross vehicle weight of 7 or 7.49 tonnes and therefore has a chassis carrying capacity of up to 1100 kg higher than a conventional truck in the 7.5 tonne category.
Due to the additional axle the technical wheelbase is altered. Body lengths of up to
6 metres are possible.
VW Crafter models with an additional axle are particularly suitable for solutions in sectors where high weights have to be transported on longer load platforms of vehicles requiring driving licence category 3 (Federal Republic of Germany – old version of car driving licence).
Due to the narrower axle track in comparison with trucks in the 7.5 tonne category, bodies with a minimum width of 2100 mm can be accomplished. This is a great advantage when needed for driving through narrow old town streets, gateways, etc.

Technical prerequisites for base vehicle:
